2024-2025 State Officers

President: Sowmya Hemadri

Hi New Jersey TSA, my name is Sowmya Hemadri and I am honored and delighted to be your 2024-25 State President! I am a senior at Colts Neck High School and this is my fourth year in TSA as well as my second year on your state board. In the past, I have competed in TSA state competition activities including board game design and digital video production. I have met so many new, inspiring people through TSA and have found an amazing community of accomplished, driven students that I am proud to call friends. In school, I am an active member of TSA, International Club, DECA, Financial Freedom, JSA, and various honor societies. I am an accomplished classical Indian singer, Bollywood and Hip-Hop dancer, tennis player for my school and club, and finance intern for the Economic Literacy Initiative. All in all, serving as your State President is an incredible privilege and I can’t wait for an exciting year!

 Vice-President: Abhay Bhaskar

Hey New Jersey TSA! My name is Abhay Bhaskar, and I am excited to serve as your state Vice President for the 2024-2025 school year. I’m a senior at the Edison Academy Magnet School and have been a part of TSA since my freshman year. I’ve attended multiple state and national leadership conferences, winning awards in events including TEAMS, Geospatial Technology, Webmaster, and Audio Podcasting. Participating in TSA has exposed me to various subjects and enabled me to meet so many new people, and I aim to ensure that other members have the same positive experience! Beyond TSA, I am involved in many school activities, such as Science Olympiad, Math League, and Model United Nations. I also spent my summer taking part in the Simons Summer Research Program at Stony Brook University. In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, listening to music, and reading novels. My goal is to work with each of our chapters to ensure their success through a strong support system. Without further ado, let’s get ready for another great year of New Jersey TSA!

 Secretary: Ayush Tripathi

Hey New Jersey TSA! My name is Ayush Tripathi, and I am excited to serve as your state Secretary for the 2024-25 school year. I am a senior at Edison Academy Magnet School and have been a member of TSA since my freshman year. I have attended multiple state and national conferences, with some of my favorite events being TEAMS, webmaster, and tech bowl. TSA has provided me an opportunity to further my interests in STEM these last few years, and I aim to ensure that the rest of the state delegation has a similar positive experience. Beyond TSA, I am involved in Junior State of America and FBLA. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, listening to music, and playing basketball with my friends. My goal for this year is to ensure every chapter, big or small, is aware of all of the fundraisers, events, and competitions that TSA organizes. Looking forward to working with the rest of the state officer team to make this year the best one yet!

Treasurer: Davina Gerald Raj

Hi NJ TSA! I’m Davina Gerald Raj and I’m thrilled to serve as your State Treasurer for the 2024-25 year. I am a senior at Monroe Township High School and this is my third year in TSA. My favorite TSA events are Geospatial Technology and Biotechnology Design. I have competed at Nationals for Geospatial Technology. I have truly enjoyed exploring new concepts and meeting motivated students through TSA and am looking forward to giving back to this incredible community by implementing statewide fundraisers. Outside of TSA, I volunteer at a local museum, compete in Model UN, and am a part of cultural organizations and honor societies. I also like to listen to music and hike in my free time. I was an active member of the State Fundraising and Challenges Committee last year and look forward to leading it this year as Co-Chair to create a memorable TSA experience for all of us!

Sergeant-At-Arms: Anya Maher

Hey New Jersey TSA, I’m Anya Maher and I’m so excited to be your 2024-2025 State Sergeant At Arms! I attend Howell Middle School North and am in seventh grade, with this being my second year in TSA. I have attended one state and national conference and placed nationally in Challenging Technical Issues. Moreover, I also participated in Technical Design, Vlogging, Chapter Teams, and TEAMS. Aside from school, my hobbies include spending time with friends, shopping, and painting. Additionally, I am an active Indian-Classical and Fusion dancer as well as a volleyball player. I truly am looking forward to interacting with students, advisors, and other officers across not only our delegation but across the states. In all, I yearn to open more opportunities to bridge the communication gap between the state and chapter levels as well as promote TSA to other school districts, specifically through the continuation of Elementary School Visits to stimulate the next generation of TSA members. I can’t wait to get this year rolling, see you all soon!

Reporter: Carina Pang

Hey New Jersey TSA, I’m Carina Pang and I am delighted to serve as your 2024-2025 State Reporter. I am a senior at New Providence High School and this is my fourth year in TSA. I have attended three state and two national conferences and have placed in events such as Manufacturing Prototype, Animatronics, and System Control Technology. Outside of TSA, I am a part of my school’s art honor society and I volunteer at my local library. I love to spend my free time hanging out with friends, sewing a dress, or reading a book. I also attended the Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology this past summer. I am so grateful for all that I have learned and all the amazing people I have met through TSA. My goal is to increase communication between the chapters and state to ensure another successful year. I can’t wait to meet all of you and see what NJTSA will accomplish this year!

Historian: Jenvi Patel

Hi New Jersey TSA! I’m Jenvi Patel, and I’m ecstatic to serve as your State Historian in the 2024-2025 year! I’m a senior at Monroe Township High School and this is my 3rd year in TSA. I’ve competed in events including Geospatial Technology, Biotechnology Design, Prepared Presentation, and Debating Technological Issues. Last year, I served as a member of the State Promotional Development Committee and am excited to lead it as a Co-Chair this year. I love being in TSA because its allowed me to explore various STEM topics and meet many driven, incredible people. I hope to give back to this amazing organization as a state officer. Outside of TSA, I’m involved in my school’s computer club and honor societies, work part-time as a tutor, and volunteer in various organizations. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, playing badminton, and binge watching TV shows. Looking ahead, I can’t wait to meet everyone and to get started with another successful year for NJTSA!

Parliamentarian: Anjali Maher

Hi New Jersey TSA, my name is Anjali Maher and I’m so excited to be your next 2024-25 State Parliamentarian! I am a 7th grader at Howell Township Middle School North and this is my second year in TSA. I have had the opportunity to compete and place in many events including Challenging Technology Issues, TEAMS, Problem Solving, and Technical Design. In school, I am an active member of the Forensics team and Yearbook club. Outside of school, I am a dancer focused on Indian Classical and Fusion music, a part of the local Monmouth County volleyball team, and a swimmer. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, and hanging out with my friends. One of my goals for this year is to be more involved with the chapters and get to know all the members. All in all, I’m beyond thankful to you, the members, for electing me to this office and assure you to implement new changes and bring new ideas to the table for our delegation!
