Scholarships

NJ TSA Future Technology Teacher Scholarship

The purpose of the NJ TSA Future Technology Teacher Scholarship is to support the mission of TSA by encouraging NJ TSA members to pursue careers as technology education teachers.  A qualifying student will receive a $500 scholarship to use toward continuing their education.  The recipient will be announced at the State Conference.  Please see the current NJ Supplement for submission deadlines.

William P. Elrod Scholarship

Now is the time for promising TSA members to apply for the William P. Elrod Scholarship.  This year’s recipient will receive $2,500.

Named in memory of William P. Elrod — the founding father of TSA with longstanding leadership and involvement –the scholarship is awarded each year to a TSA student member. Bill was the chapter advisor of Madison High School TSA in Madison, Kansas; a previous Kansas TSA state advisor; a Kansas TSA, Inc. corporate member; a former member of the TSA, Inc. Board of Directors; and a former TSA national advisor and national assistant advisor.

The William P. Elrod Memorial Scholarship is made available through funds dedicated by the TSA, Inc. Board of Directors to the memory of William P. Elrod, a founding father of TSA from Madison, KS. Mr. Elrod, who died in 1990, was known for his longstanding leadership and involvement with TSA. The amount awarded to a TSA student member through this scholarship is $2,500. The deadline for the application is May 1st each year.

Alumni Scholarship

The National TSA Alumni Association established the alumni scholarship program as a way to provide financial support to recognize the hard work and dedication of TSA alumni who work to continuously give back to TSA even though their time as a competitor has passed. The amount awarded for this scholarship is $1,000 and will be distributed directly to the recipient’s college or university’s financial aid department.

CompTIA Scholarship for Future Technologists

The CompTIA Scholarship for Future Technologists is made available through a generous contribution by national TSA partner CompTIA. Ten recipients each will be awarded a one-time $2,500 scholarship for continuing education beyond high school that is not a traditional four-year college path.

TSA graduating seniors pursing associate’s degrees at community colleges—or non-degree programs offered by universities or career, trade, or technical schools—are eligible to apply.

Application criteria, forms and instructions for TSA student member applicants can be found on the National TSA Student Membership Site.

Future Technology Educator Scholarship

NJTEA provides $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors that are current residents of New Jersey and that have gained acceptance to an accredited technology education teacher preparation program.  A supporting recommendation from a NJTEA member is required.
