What is the difference between pre-conference and on-site registration costs?

If you are a student who is unable to attend the state conference but would still like to participate through pre-conference events, you may do so at a reduced rate. The pre-conference events are listed in the supplement page, linked on the state conference pages.

If you are a student, parent, chaperone, guest, teacher, or advisor who would like to attend the state conference, you must register at the Full Conference Rate. Your chapter’s advisor can register you when registering his or her students. There will be no admittance to the conference events, activities, meals, or awards ceremony without proper registration and a valid name badge.

I am a student. How many events can I compete in?

You can compete in as many PRE-CONFERENCE events as your advisor allows. However, you are only permitted to compete in ONE on-site competition. A majority of the on-site competitions take place at the same time, and the competitions do not have a set ending time due to the varying number of participants competing in each event. 

I only submitted a pre-conference project. Can I still attend the state conference?

If you only submitted a pre-conference project and are not participating in any on-site competitions, and you would like to attend the state conference, you may do so, but you must register at the full conference rate. The pre-conference rate is only for students who have only submitted a pre-conference project and are unable to attend the state conference. if your pre-conference submission won an award at the awards ceremony, your teacher may pick up your trophy, or you can contact the NJ TSA office (Rebecca Turner at turner25@tcnj.edu or Alison Goeke at goeke2@tcnj.edu) to coordinate sending you your trophy. The awards report is posted to the state conference pages after every awards ceremony, so you can find out if you’ve won there.

I have a dietary restriction. Who should I speak to about this?

You can contact Rebecca Turner at turner25@tcnj.edu regarding dietary restrictions. Please contact at least two weeks prior to the state conference to allow for adequate time to accommodate any dietary needs.
